HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMING: HORSEHEADS SWIMS AGAINST SOME OF STATES BEST AT SHEN BREAST CANCER AWARENESS INVITE (2021-10-09)

The Horseheads swim team took on some of the best teams in Section 2 with a tripe to Shenendehowa for the Shen Breast Cancer Awareness Invite on Saturday.

The Blue Raiders came away with a 10th place finish in the field of 18 teams.

The Blue Raiders had two 200 medley relay teams pick up top 25 finishes.

The A relay took sixth out of 30 teams with a time of 1:58.31 with Sibby Lowe, Allie Benton, Gabby Janeski and Grace Shelhamer.

The B relay of Anh Thu Tran, Sydney Ham, Isabel Paddock and Gracie Ringer finished 22nd in 2:03.96.

Elise Johnson finished 18th in the 200 free in 2:04.87 and DeLaney Woodhouse finished 27th in 2:08.79.

Shelhamer was 17th in the 200 IM in 2:26.60 and in the 200 free Johnson was 18th in 2:04.87 and Woodhouse was 27th in 2:08.79.

In a 50 free with 141 girls Lowe finished tied for sixth in 25.60 and Ringer was 20th in 26.92.

Emma Bachert was 15th in diving at 420.50 and Ella Blowers was 19th at 259.90.

Janeski had a 23rd place finish in the 1:07.23 out of 64 swimmers.

Lowe had another big finish in the 100 free, taking 10th out of 126 swimmers in 56.06. Tran finished 19th in 58.36.

Johnson was seventh out of 28 swimmers in the 500 free in 5:28.64.
