HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: AIELLO HOMERS FOR 2ND STRAIGHT GAME AS EDISON TOPS SVEC (2023-04-19)
Southern Tier Sports ReportELMIRA HEIGHTS — Down 2-0, the Edison bats came alive in the second inning as they beat SVEC 15-7 on Wednesday afternoon as Emily Aiello homered for the second straight game.
The Spartans scored four in the second, added a run in the fourth, three in the fifth, six in the sixth and a run in the seventh to go up 15-3. SVEC got four runs in the bottom of the seventh to cut into the final deficit.
Aiello had a home run for the second straight game, with two RBI and two runs scored and Maycie Bennett finished with three hits, including a double, two RBI and three runs scored.
Emma Maggs, Kailey Ripley and Mariana Jones-Frosolone all had two hits for the Spartans. Maggs scored two runs, Ripley had three RBI and two runs scored and Jones-Frosolone scored three runs.
Gabby Milazzo, Maliyah McIver, Madasyn Hoffner, Maddison Pack and Charlee Stroman all had hits for Edison.
Milazzo scored a run, McIver and Huffner each had RBI, with Huffner scoring a run.
Pack scored a run and Stroman had an RBI.
Milazzo went four innings, striking out five and Jones-Frosolone struck out six in three innings.
