Southern Tier Sports ReportCORNING — The Corning Hawks softball team moved to 4-0 on the season as they won their home opener over Binghamton 23-0.
Payton Sullivan hit a home run for Corning and threw two perfect innings, striking out all six batters she faced in the win.
Sullivan hit a three-run home run and had four RBI and two runs scored in the game.
Sophia Polzella, Maddie Dibble, Courtney Searfoss, Kayleigh Sparks and Daphne Sherman each had two hits in the game.
Polzella had two doubles, two RBI and three runs scored, Dibble had a double, two runs scored and an RBI and Sherman had a double, two RBI and three runs scored. Sparks had a triple, three RBI and three runs scored.
Searfoss had a double and scored three runs for Corning.
Kendall Curreri scored three runs in the game and Lily MacNeal scored a run in the game.
Anya Beres threw three innings, allowing one hit and striking out five.
Corning is at Johnson City on Wednesday.
