HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: CORNING NOTCHES WIN TO GO 3-0 AT GRAND STRAND CLASSIC (2023-04-05)
Southern Tier Sports ReportMYRTLE BEACH, SC — The Corning softball team picked up another win at the Grand Strand Classic to finish 3-0 at the tournament with a 5-3 win over McLean.
Corning jumped out to a 3-0 lead after three innings. McLean got two in the fourth and a run in the sixth to tie things, before Corning won it with two in the seventh.
In the seventh MacNeal was hit by a pitch and Teribury sacrificed MacNeal to second. Sophia Polzella was hit by a pitch and Kendall Curreri bunted and reached on an error, scoring MacNeal and Polzella.
Polzella had a solo home run in the game, scoring twice in the game, and Curreri had a triple and a run scored.
MacNeal had a hit and scored a run in the game and Maddie Dibble scored a run.
Peyton Sullivan went the distance on the mound, striking out six and allowing three hits and three runs, just one earned.
