HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: HAWKS PICK UP WIN TO MOVE TO 2-0 ON SEASON (2023-04-04)
Southern Tier Sports ReportMYRTLE BEACH, SC — The Corning softball team picked up an 11-3 win over Jeffersontown (Kentucky) on Tuesday to move to 2-0 on the year.
It's the second straight day the Hawks won a game at the Grand Strand Classic.
Peyton Sullivan went six innings on the mound, striking out six and allowing three runs, one earned, on four hits. Daphne Sherman pitched a perfect inning, striking out all three batters she faced.
Maddie Dibble had two hits, with a double, an RBI and two runs scored and Sophia Polzella had two hits and scored two runs.
Courtney Searfoss had two hits, an RBI and a run scored and Sullivan had a double, an RBI and two runs scored.
Kayleigh Sparks had a hit, an RBI and a run scored and Lily MacNeal had a hit and scored a run.
Lauren DeRosa had an RBI and a run scored and Kendall Curreri scored a run in the game.
