HIGH SCHOOL BOYS' LACROSSE: EXPRESS SET TO OPEN SEASON AT HOME AGAINST JOHNSON CITY (2023-03-28)

The Elmira boys’ lacrosse team is at home in the new stadium as they kick off their season today when Johnson City comes to town.

The Express feature a number of returning athletes and a strong group of newcomers.

last year we were 7-8
Top returners are Sam Brennan Buseck in goal, on defense, Danny Manning, Shane Heifernon, Jack Sullivan and Caleb McCoy  On attack, Ryan Stukey, Creed Hackett and Kaiden Green at Midfield, Cooper Taft, Rylan Hughes
We return a core group of players that have played together since youth league.  They have 2 years of Varsity experience and had a great off season.  We have great leaders on both ends of the field and one of the best goalies we have ever had.
Top newcomers on offense are Landon Cook, Jack Van Dine.  On defense, Brady Keefe, Trenten Edwards.  The new guys give us much needed depth on offense and defense which we have not had recently.  They complement our experienced guys perfectly.
Thoughts on the team: We are very excited about our team this year.  We have a great senior led defense with a great goalie.  We have depth on offense and guys that are playing with confidence.  We can't wait to get the games underway.
Thoughts on the league: Our league is always tough.  Great programs with a lot of history.  There are no easy games.  We have to be ready every night for a hard fought battle.  I'ts a really fun league.
Athletes competing in college: Drew Cartwright,  Hunter Cartwright, Shea Grebleski and Quinn Sullivan all play at Alfred University; Nathan Latshaw plays at Mercyhurst
