HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS: NOTRE DAME HAS PLENTY OF NEW FACES AS THEY PREPARE TO OPEN SEASON (2023-03-28)

The Notre Dame tennis team prepares to open the season today as they welcome Edison to town.

The team has a few returning players, along with a big group of newcomers.

ND Spring Tennis Team

Record Last Year: 7-2
Returning athletes: Ella Chicone (12), Divye Agrawal (11), Lolly Chicone (9)
Our returning players bring experience and leadership to a relatively young and inexperienced team. Divye and Ella will play singles while Lolly is going to play doubles this season.
New Athletes: Guilherme Toigo (12), Ricardo Reicher (11), Alex Shultz (10), Archer Choi (7), Giulia Fassarela (11), Bruna Bertol (12)
Guilherme, Ricardo, Giulia, and Bruna are 1st year ND students from Brazil. Guilherme will be playing in a singles position for the team, Ricardo, Alex and Archer will be playing doubles for the team this year. Giulia and Bruna are brand new to tennis but have lots of potential and will be playing exhibition matches.
Thoughts on the team this year: The team is smaller in number than years past so our depth is limited but I feel we will be competitive and look to improve throughout the season.
Thoughts on the league this year: The IAC always has good players and teams so we will be tested by every team we compete against in both regular season and post-season play.
