HORSEHEADS — Vanessa Stevens had an 11-point game and Brooke Sumner had six goals to help lead Horseheads to a season-opening 17-10 win over Chenango Forks on Tuesday.

Stevens had four goals and seven assists and Sumner had six goals and an assist in the game.

Iylan Fowler had three goals and three assists and Kaitlin Wheeler had two goals and an assist.

Alexa Else had a goal and an assist in the win.

Amelia Christmas had a goal and Lauren Kozemko finished with two assists.

Helena Willis had three goals for Chenango Forks and Danica Kelly, Maggie Warpus and Alyssa Specchio each had two goals. Ayla Snyder had one goal in the game.

Sumner had 10 draw controls for Horseheads and Emma Guzylak finished with nine draw controls.

Kate Rought finished with three saves in goal for the Blue Raiders.
