YOUTH WRESTLING: CORNING LIL HAWKS PROGRAM WRAPS UP SUCCESSFUL SEASON (2023-03-26)

The Corning Lil Hawks wrestling program wrapped up their 22-23 season this past week.

The youth wrestling program consisted of 48 wrestlers & 12 dedicated coaches. The club competed in 7 tournaments as a team, with many wrestlers continuing their opportunities in other individual tournaments & meets.

As a club, the Lil Hawks placed
3rd @ Dansville
3rd @ Wayland
4th @ Towanda
4th @ Pen Yan
And brought home the team title at their home tournament in December.

Each age group, 6U 7&8 9&10 11&12 was awarded with an outstanding wrestler award.
For 6U - Owen Orr with a record of 12-3.
Owen won multiple tournaments & displayed exceptional sportsmanship.
For 7&8 - Logan Hurd  with a record of 14-10.
Logan finished the season on an 11-1 run taking 1st place in his final 3 tournaments.
For 9&10- Brodie O’Dell with a record of 25-4
Brodie took 1st place in 2 tournaments finishing no worse than 3rd in all tournaments.
For 11&12- Carter Solaris with a record of 23-5
Carter competed in advanced brackets and achieved his 100th career win at the Corning tournament.

The club is consisted of kids K-6 with various different skill level groups. It’s dedicated coaching staff does it’s best to train & develop these young wrestlers while keeping things fun from November-March.
