COLLEGE SOFTBALL: CORNING GRAD RIJO HAS PAIR OF 2 RBI GAMES AGAINST TOP 15 RANKED TEAMS (2023-03-25)

Corning graduate Atalyia Rijo had a two-RBI game to help Arkansas softball to a 6-2 win over No. 10 ranked Florida on Friday.

Rijo had a hit and drove in two runs in the win for the Razorbacks.

It’s Rijo’s second two-RBI game in her past three games. She had a hit and two RBI in the middle game of a three-game set with Arkansas last weekend.

In the third game of the three-game set with No. 13 Alabama she had career highs defensively with five putouts from her short stop position and four assists.

Rijo has played in 28 games this year, with 27 starts. She is hitting .246 with a .342 on-base percentage. She has two home runs, 12 RBI and 14 runs scored this year.

Arkansas is 23-8 on the year and entered Friday’s game ranked 17th in the country. They have a game tonight against Florida and finish the three-game set Sunday afternoon.
