Horseheads graduate McKenna Woodworth was named the PSAC West Women’s Lacrosse Athlete of the Week after a career day in a win over Lock Haven.

During a 14-13 win over Lock Haven on Saturday the Horseheads graduate had a career-high seven goals. She accounted for four of the final five goals for Gannon, who trailed by as many as six goals and were behind 13-9 in the third period.

She scored twice to pull GU within two goals at 13-11 after three periods. She then accounted for Gannon’s final two goals, tying the match at 13-13 with 8:36 on a free position goal, and then she scored the game-winener at 7:37. She took 15 shots and had a ground ball.

She added two goals against Seton Hill on Wednesday and now has 97 goals for her career, just three away from the 100-goal milestone.

Woodworth has 17 goals and two assists in just seven games this year. She has scored in four straight games and has scored in six of the seven games this year. She has four double-digit goal games this year and three games with three or more goals.

Over the past four games Woodworth had 13 goals and 12 assists.

The win over Lock Haven was the first of the year for Gannon, who hosts D’Youville on Sunday.
