COLLEGE SOFTBALL: HORSEHEADS GRAD EVANS OFF TO CAREER BEST START FOR GANNON SOFTBALL (2023-03-14)
Southern Tier Sports ReportHorseheads graduate Olivia Evans is off to a strong start for the Gannon softball team as she’s hitting over .300 and has started the six games this season.
Opening the season in Georgia and Florida the junior has begun the year hitting .308, going 4-for-13.
Before this year Evans had played in 25 games, but had just three at bats, without a collegiate hit coming into this season.
This year Evans got a hit in her first game, going 1-for-1 against Hillsdale. She also had a hit against Wingate and against Bridgeport she had a career day, going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI, along with a stolen base. It was the first multi-hit game of her career, the first RBI of her career and the second stolen base of her career.
Evans has scored two runs this year and has scored 10 runs this season.
