Southern Tier Sports Report
BINGHAMTON — Payton Littlefield had a career-high 38 points and the Edison girls basketball team hit 12 threes for the third time in the past four games as they topped Seton Catholic 75-66.

Edison led 17-13 after one quarter, but the game was tied at 34 at the half. Edison used a 26-point third quarter to pull away for the win.

“Could not be happier with how the team is playing right now,” Edison coach Chris Mallette said. “Seton played a really good game offensively tonight, but we took their bets shot and just kept making shots on the other end.

“Payton obviously came up huge with a career high 38 points, but it was the contributions from up and down the roster that got us the win. Made 12 threes again for the third time in four games. Just hope we can keep this level of play up for another few weeks.”

It was a fifth win in the row for the Spartans as they head into sectionals.

Littlefield had seven threes and was 5-for-6 from the line to reach her career-high 38. She added five rebounds and two assists in the win.

Gianna McGee had 12 points, hitting two threes. She had nine rebounds, four assists and two steals in the win.

Gabby Milazzo hit two threes and was 3-for-4 from the line for nine points. Milazzo had five assists, two boards and four steals in the game.
