HIGH SCHOOL BOWLING: ELMIRA BOYS WIN END OF SEASON TOURNEY, GIRLS TAKE THIRD IN STAC TOURNEY (2023-02-06)

The Elmira boys won the end-of-season bowling tournament, while the Express girls competed in the STAC Championship, taking third.

The boys shot 3,066 to win the end of season tournament. They had a high game on the day of 1,087. Johnson City finished second at 2,981.

In the STAC Championship there were four boys and four girls teams that competed. The Elmira girls competed with Chenango Valley, Maine-Endwell and Windsor.

The Elmira girls were edged by one pin for second place. Chenango Valley won with a team score of 2,828 and Windsor shot 2,592, while Elmira was at 2,591. Chenango Valley as fourth at 2,200.

Bella Wood led Elmira with a 192-180-204-576 and Hayle Avery shot 174-201-199-574. Maddi Smith shot 143-197-201-541 and Abby Hink shot 122-205, Abby Cunningham shot 133-159-292 and Jayden Avery shot 141-138-279.

Skylar Thomas shot 259-184-279-722 to lead Windsor with the top overall score and game of the day.

The Elmira boys were led by Skylar Shadduck, who shot a 689, to finish third in the end of season tournament. Alex Smith shot 644, sixth in the tournament. Trent Belloma shot 615.

Shadduck had the second-highest game of the day, among the boys, between teams in the end of season tournament and the STAC Tournament, with a 279 game. Smith had a high game of 245 and Belloma had a high game of 237.

Maine-Endwell had five bowlers shoot 530 or higher, led by runner-up Rylee Roe at 210-231-172-613.

Elmira’s JV boys had the overall winner for JV as Phillip Addington shot 189-193-200-582 to win the title. Other Elmira bowlers were Nick German (158-167-167-492), Peyton Rozell (149-157-170-476), Jaxon Brooks (129-126-255) and Logan Ciccoa (161).

The Elmira JV team was runner-up at 2,411, with Maine-Endwell winning at 2,422.
