COLLEGE CROSS COUNTRY: SIMPSON SIBLINGS FIND SUCCESS IN COLLEGE CROSS COUNTRY (2022-11-27)
Southern Tier Sports ReportThree local siblings all ran cross country for their colleges this fall.
Derek, Rachael and Amanda Simpson, three of the quadruplets from Notre Dame, all ran at the collegiate level this year.
Derek was third on the Mansfield team at Division II regionals, finishing 11th in 33:12.2 at the meet that Mansfield hosted. He had a PR time of 27:40 this year for the Mountaineers.
Rachael Simpson competed for Division I Regionals where she took 235th place in the west regional with a time of 24:08.2. She was a post earner all season for her team, after playing soccer, and not running cross country in high school.
Amanda Simpson, who also was a soccer player in high school, ran for Simpson University where she was the leading runner for the team. She took 29th at the conference meet.
The fourth quadruplet, Tyler, is at North Carolina State trying to earn a walk-on spot with the track and field team.
