THE WEEK AHEAD: STATE XC CHAMPIONSHIPS, SECTIONAL FOOTBALL FINAL AND SUB-REGIONAL VOLLEYBALL MATCH ON TAP THIS WEEK (2022-11-06)

The fall season is nearly in the books, but not before some titles are on the line this week.

There is a sectional title football game, a sub-regional volleyball match, and the state championships for cross country.

There are three-events on the schedule, and Corning is involved in all of them.

The Hawks host Pine Bush at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in a Class AA subregional game for volleyball.

On Friday Elmira and Corning meet in the Class AA sectional football final at Corning.

Saturday is the state championships for cross country at Vernon-Verona. Corning’s boys and girls teams are both in the field, while Elmira has two girls runners and Horseheads and Notre Dame each have a girl in the field.

Corning’s boys are the reigning state champions.
