FINGER LAKES FALCONS HAVE STRONG WEEKEND AS THEY WRAP UP TRAVEL SEASON AT RIPKEN EXPERIENCE (10 PHOTOS) (2022-08-16)

The Finger Lakes Falcons 12u finished their travel season at the Ripken Experience in Aberdeen, Maryland this past weekend, competing against 24 other teams from six different states.

The four-day tournament opened with a skills competition. Each team participated in a ‘Golden Spikes’ speed copetition, a cut and relay competition, a turn two competition and a home run derby.

The Finger Lakes Falcons had the Turn 2 Champions as Beckett Doane, Johnny Graham, Parker Tolbert, Keagan Martin, Noah Cady and Lyncoln Bennett turned four different double plays in 26.7 seconds to beat the rest of the field.

Suit Pathak won the home run derby, hitting six home runs in one minute to top the field.

For the tournament the Falcons went 2-1 in pool play making it to the championship bracket as the eighth seed for elimination play. They were eventually ousted from the tournament on elimination day by the top seed.

Each game featured a player of the game. Doane, Pathak, Cody and Martin won those awards.

The rest of the roster included Owen Torgalski, Bentley Stroman, Hunter Grant, Jay Richards and Jack Pipher.
