GAFFER ELITE LACROSSE 2025-26 TEAM CAPTURES LEHIGH LAXFEST TITLE (2022-06-13)
Southern Tier Sports ReportThe Gaffer Elite Lacrosse program took multiple age groups to the Lehigh lacrosse Laxfest tournament over the weekend. The 2023s, 2024s, 2025-26s, 2027s, and 2028-29s all competed.
The 2023s and 2028-29s placed second in their respective age groups. The 2025-26 Team played in a 2025 age group and won the championship, outscoring their opponents 32-8.
Pacing the offense was Seton Catholic freshman Rory Callahan, scoring 13 goals on the day. In the face off circle, Chenango Valley freshman Mason Marinaro and Corning eighth grader Clayton Smith dominated the day, winning a combined 39 of 43 faceoffs. In the goal, Chenango Valley eighth grader Sid Dunster and Ithaca freshman Ryan Hughes combined to allow eight total goals in four games.
Also filling up the stat sheet with goals and assists were Sawyer Prentiss (8th, Owego), Nate Marinaro (Fr., CV), Roman Dutcher (8th, CV), Owen Dubrava (Fr., Union Endicott), Clayton Smith (8th, Corning) and Taylor Freelove (8th, Corning). Defensively, we received great efforts from the collective group of Mike Lutton (8th, Elmira Notre Dame), Jaden Branch (Fr., Maine Endwell), Mason Williams (Fr., Maine Endwell), Tiegen Gill (8th, Corning), Cooper Bange (8th, Corning), Regis Farren (Fr., Corning) and Ryland McKay (Fr., Corning). Coaches: Chad Freelove (Corning), Eddie Baker (Vestal).
The 2023s and 2024s are headed to Albany for the Albany Clash this coming weekend (6/18-6/19). The other groups will be headed to Maryland for the Bay Bridge Brawl on June 25th. The Gaffer Elite Lacrosse Directors are Bob and Duncan Streeten and the Gaffer Elite Lacrosse is in its 11th season this spring.
