COLLEGE SOFTBALL: CCC PLAYERS RECOGNIZED WITH FIRST-TEAM ALL-AMERICAN HONORS

After another run to a national runner-up finish, the Corning Community College softball team had three players recognized as part of the NJCAA All-American First team.
The list includes Grace Vondracek, who was also the NJCAA Region III Player of the Year this year. Vondracek led the nation with a .626 average and hit nine home runs and drove in 65 in 47 games.
Lexi Wood, an Elmira graduate, last year’s player of the year, led the nation with 105 RBI and hit .503 with eight home runs to make the list, while Emma Loomis, a Horseheads graduate, hit .494 with 34 RBI in her freshman year to make the list.
Just 14 players from seven schools earned All-American honors.
