COLLEGE BASEBALL: TERWILLIGER DOMINANT IN RELIEF AS EAST CAROLINA WINS REGIONAL TITLE (June 6, 2022)

Corning grad Ben Terwilliger was absolutely dominant to help the East Carolina baseball team (45-19) beat Coastal Carolina (39-20-1) 13-4 to claim a regional title on Monday afternoon.

It’s the third straight year and seventh time in program history that the Pirates have won a regional title.

Pitching in relief, Terwilliger went three innings, allowing just one hit, no walks and no runs, and striking out four in a nearly perfect outing out of the pen.

East Carolina is the No. 8 National Seed and they will host No. 9 Texas this weekend in a three-game super regional with the winner advancing to the College World Series. For ECU it marks the second time the program will host a super regional, but the first on campus.
