COLLEGE SOFTBALL: HORSEHEADS GRAD RICHMOND EARNS FIRST-TEAM ALL CONFERENCE HONORS (May 10, 2022)

Southern Tier Sports Report
Horseheads graduate Alli Richmond earned first-team All-conference honors from the America East Conference for Binghamton on Tuesday afternoon.

Richmond was named first team and was chosen to the America East All-Academic team. She was one of four Binghamton University players recognized on Tuesday.

"All four players are very deserving of these conference honors," head coach Jess Bump said. "They have worked hard throughout the season but I don't think that we get these individual honors without the hard work of our whole squad. This team has been very special in that they have competed and pushed each from our first practice this fall and continued to do so throughout the spring season."

Richmond earns all-conference honors for the first time in her career. She was chosen at the second base position.

Currently, Richmond is tied for fourth in the conference with six home runs and is tied for eighth with 26 RBI. Richmond is also second in the America East with 15 doubles and is fifth with a .579 slugging percentage. Her batting average for the season is a team-best .316. On May 3, she was named the America East Player of the Week.

Richmond is the first Binghamton player to earn first-team all-conference honors since Jessica Rutherford during the 2018 season. Like Rutherford, she is a graduate of Horsehead High School and wears jersey number three for the Bearcats.

In addition, Richmond is the first Binghamton player to earn both first-team honors and All-Academic honors since Gabby Bracchi in 2017.

Binghamton’s Sophia Pappas was a second-team pick and Alayna Harbaugh and Sara Rende were each on the rookie team.
