H.S. SOFTBALL: BOOKER HOMERS AS CORNING TOPS U-E (2022-05-02)

CORNING — Two days after hitting 10 home runs over two games, the Corning Hawks had another home run on Monday as they beat Union-Endicott 7-5.

Kelsey Booker homered in the game and Booker and Kellie Zoerb each had two hits for the Hawks, who are 12-1 on the season and are ranked fourth in the state in Class AA.

Union-Endicott led the game 1-0 with a third-inning run, before the Hawks scored five in the bottom half of the inning to take control.

U-E scored four runs in the final three innings to cut into the deficit, but the Hawks had runs in the fifth and sixth to hold on for the win.

Booker had two RBI and two runs scored for Corning in the game and Zoerb scored a run for the Hawks.

Atalyia Rijo and Molly Moylan each had hits for Corning. Rijo had an RBI and a run scored and Moylan had two RBI and a run scored.

Kendall Curreri had an RBI and a run scored and Ellie DeRosa scored a run in the game.

Peyton Sullivan struck out five over six innings in the game and Jillian Austin threw an inning, allowing one hit.
