Southern Tier Sports Report — The Elmira girls swim team opened the season with a 100-83 loss at Vestal.

In the 200 medley relay the team of Lydia Barnes, Calli Overton, Gabrielle Mattoon and McKenna Malone won for Elmira in 2:06.70.

Natalie Rose was third in the 200 free in 2:38.79 for the Express and in the 200 IM Malone was second for Elmira in 2:34.92, followed by Overton in 2:53.12.

Mattoon finished third in the 50 free for Elmira in 30.20 and in the diving Lydia Benjamin of Elmira was first at 203.95, followed by teammate Emma Beach at 190.75.

Overton was second in the 100 fly in 1:19.20 and Malone won the 100 free in 1:01.14.

Barnes was third in the 500 free in 6:27.49 and Barnes was second in the 100 back in 1:15.30. Mattoon was second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:23.28 and in the 400 free relay Malone, Overton, Barnes and Ava Sherman won in 4:25.47.
