H.S. SOFTBALL: ELMIRA FALLS IN FINALE IN MYRTLE BEACH (2022-04-14)
Southern Tier Sports ReportMYRTLE BEACH — The Elmira softball team wrapped up their trip to Myrtle Beach with a game against a tough Aynor team, falling 18-3.
The team played two games on the day, falling to Perry County 8-4.
Payton Ross, Kaitlynn Place, Ava Sherman, Delaney Williams and Abigail Lambert all had hits for the Express in the game against Aynor
Place scored two runs for Elmira and Sherman scored a run in the game.
Paige Colbath threw 5 2/3 innings, while Ross got the final out.
Against Perry County the Express Place had two hits, a double, two RBI and a run scored and Hannah Lambert and Ross had two hits each. Lambert scored a run and Ross scored two runs.
Sherman had a hit and two RBI and Williams had a hit in the game.
Ross went the distance on the mound, striking out two.
