H.S. SOFTBALL: SEVENTH-INNING RUNS THE DIFFERENCE AS ELMIRA IS EDGED IN MYRTLE BEACH (2022-04-12)
Southern Tier Sports ReportMYRTLE BEACH — The scoring came on the extreme opposite parts of the game on Tuesday afternoon.
Elmira scored both of their runs in the top of the first inning, while Ostego, out of Ohio, scored all three of their runs in the bottom of the seventh to win 3-2.
Ostego won the game on a one-out, two-run double, with the batter scoring on the error to end the game.
Allie Howe had a 3-for-3 day for Elmira with an RBI and Addisyn Chorney, Kaitlynn Place, Addison Taft, MacKenzie Fusare and Delaney Williams all added hits for the Express in the game.
Place and Payton Ross each scored runs for Elmira in the game.
Ross went the distance on the mound, striking out five and allowing six hits.
