MYRTLE BEACH, SC — Five Corning players had multiple hits, and Peyton Sullivan threw five innings of two-hit ball as Corning beat Bamberg-Ehrhardt 12-2 in the first game of the Myrtle Beach Grand Strand Softball Classic on Monday.

Sullivan allowed two hits and struck out four in five shutout innings and Anya Beres threw one inning, striking out one and allowing one hit.

Atalyia Rijo, Kellie Zoerb, Kelsey Booker, Maddie Dibble and Ellie DeRosa all had two hits for Corning in the game.

Booker had a double, two RBI and a run scored and DeRosa had an RBI and two runs scored.

Dibble scored a run and Zoerb had three RBI and two runs scored, while Rijo had an RBI and a run scored.

Sullivan had a hit for Corning in the game.

Sophia Polzella, Daphne Sherman, Kendall Curreri and Molly Moylan all scored runs for Corning and Olivia Keegan had an RBI. Sadie Beres had two RBI and scored a run.

Corning kept University of Tennessee softball commit shortstop Amanda Ahlin off the bases in three at-bats.

Corning is now 3-1 on the year and they play again in Myrtle Beach at 8 a.m. tomorrow against Brevard H.S.
