H.S. SOFTBALL: MAINE-ENDWELL RALLIES LATE TO TOP CORNING (2022-04-08)
Southern Tier Sports ReportENDWELL — Corning led 3-2 with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning, before Maine-Endwell rallied for a 7-3 win in a matchup of state powers.
Maine-Endwell got a two-out hit to score two runs in the sixth and then put the game away from there.
Olivia Lewis struck out 13 on the mound for Main-Endwell and she hit two
home runs and had four RBI, three hits and two runs scored for the
Spartans.
Jillian Austin went 4 2/3 innings on the mound for Corning, striking out three and Peyton Sullivan started and went 1 1/3 innings, striking out three, allowing no runs on two hits.
Kellie Zoerb had two hits for Corning. She had a double, an RBI and a run scored in the game.
Ellie DeRosa, Sophia Polzella and Kelsey Booker each had hits in the game and Polzella and Booker had RBI, while DeRosa and Atalyia Rijo scored runs.
Corning plays next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in the Grand Strand Softball Classic in Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.
