JOHNSON CITY — The Elmira Express scored six runs in the second inning to break the game open on their way to an 11-6 win over Johnson City on Tuesday.

With the game tied at two after one inning the Express had a big second-inning to get the win.

Elmira started the game strong with a two-run home run by Kaitlynn Place in the first inning to put the Express up 2-0. Johnson City tied things in the bottom half of the inning before the Express had the big second inning.

Abigail Lambert led off the second inning with a single and Mackenzie Fusare singled before Addison Chorney sacrificed to move the runners to second and third.

Addison Taft was hit by a pitch loading the bases before Payton Ross singled home Lambert.

Place hit a sacrifice fly to score Fusare and Allie Howe reached on an error to lead the bases back up.

Hannah Lambert singled home Taft and Ross and Paige Colbath singled home Howe and Hannah Lambert to cap the scoring.

Place had the home run, three RBI and two runs scored and Ross, Delaney Williams and Fusare each had two hits in the game.

Both of Williams hits were doubles and she scored two runs and Ross had two runs scored and an RBI, while Fusare had an RBI and a run scored.

Howe, Hannah Lambert, Colbth and Abigail Lambert all had hits in the game.

Howe scored a run, Hannah Lambert had two RBI and a run scored, Colbath had two RBI and Abigail Lambert scored a run.

Addison Taft scored a run in the game and Madisen Jones had an RBI.

Colbath pitched four innings, allowing six runs, just four earned, and Ross threw three innings of one-hit shutout relief, striking out four.
