CORNING — Four pitchers combined on a no-hitter and Sophia Polzella hit a home run as the Corning softball team opened the season with a 14-0 win over Binghamton.

Daphne Sherman started the game and struck out two in one inning and Anya Beres had two strikeouts in her one inning on the mound.

Peyton Sullivan got the win on the mound, going two innings with three strikeouts and Jillian Austin had two strikeouts in one inning as the Hawks combined to strike out nine in five innings.

Polzella had two hits, with the home run, four RBI and two runs scored and Kellie Zoerb had a 3-for-4 day with two RBI, three runs scored and a double.

Ellie DeRosa had a pair of triples in the game, with an RBI and three runs scored and Atalyia Rijo had a triple and three runs scored.

Maddie Dibble had two hits with two RBI and Molly Moylan had a double, with an RBI and a run scored and Kelsey Booker had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Kendall Curreri had a hit and Sadie Beres scored a run in the game.
