JV GIRLS' BASKETBALL: HUGE RALLY LIFTS ELMIRA PAST SV IN STAC SEMIS (24 PHOTOS) (February 16, 2022)

ELMIRA — The Elmira JV girls’ basketball team made a furious rally in the fourth quarter to beat Susquehanna Valley 46-40 in the STAC semis.

Elmira outscored the Sabres 23-4 in the fourth quarter to rally from a 13-point deficit heading into the final quarter.

Elmira trailed by as many as 16 points in the first half, before making the huge comeback for the win.

Laila Burchard and Caitlyn Wagner both had 12 points to lead the Express to the win.

Burchard hit two big threes in the fourth to put the game away for Elmira.

Addison Taft and Ava Sherman kickstarted the comeback with great defense in the final quarter.

Elmira will take on the winner of Vestal and Chenango Forks for the STAC JV title at a time and place to be determined.
