STAC GIRLS' BASKETBALL: MCLAUGHLIN RETURNS FOR BLUE RAIDERS, NINE PLAYERS SCORE IN WIN (January 28, 2022)
Southern Tier Sports Report BINGHAMTON — The Blue Raiders won their second straight, topping Binghamton 69-37 on Friday night.
Allison McLaughlin took the court for the first time since tearing her ACL last February and she had three points.
McLaughlin was out all year after the injury last February and the surgery last March. She played five minutes and was 3-for-3 from the free throw line for her first points of the year.
“The team was beyond excited for her to be out there,” Horseheads coach Andy Scott said. “Great team win, everyone contributed positively tonight.”
Sophia Bonnell had 11 points for Horseheads and Carly Scott finished with 10 points. Bonnell hit three threes in the game and Scott had two threes in the game.
Megan Wolf and Eva Koratsis had nine points each as 11 players scored in the win.
Emma Romanski finished with eight points for the Blue Raiders and Alexis Guzylak finished with seven points.
Emma Kamas had five points for Horseheads and Madisyn Matkosky and McLaughlin finished with three points in the game.
Sydnee Cross and Belle Giammichele each had two points in the game.
Horseheads is home against Penfield, a perennial power in girls’ basketball with a 3:45 p.m. varsity start. The boys host Binghamton after the girls game. —— STSR FILE PHOTO
