TOURNAMENT WRESTLING: HORSEHEADS WRESTLERS OFF TO STRONG START AT BRADSHAW TOURNEY (2022-01-14)

CANANDAIGUA — The Horseheads wrestlers had a strong start on the first day at the Bradshaw Invitational on Friday night.

The first day saw wrestlers advance to the quarterfinal round. Every wrestler returns today either in the main draw or the wrestle backs.

A pair of Horseheads wrestlers are in the quarterfinals at 118. Coleton Owen opened with a victory by pin in 2:53, while Ryan Massengale had a bye in the first round.

Cody Dale opened with a bye and then won by pin in 1:41 at 126, he’ll take on Tioga’s Mason Welch, who beat Horseheads’ Seth Loucks in the first match. Loucks is in the wrestle backs.

Lucas Mosher got a bye to start and then opened with a hard-fought 3-1 win at 132 to make the quarterfinals. Cael Owen dropped his first match and is in the wrestle backs.

Hunter Lavigne of Horseheads won by pin in 2:14 to make the quarterfinals at 189 and Jacob Bennett dropped his first match to head to the wrestle backs.

Gannon Johnson got a bye into the quarterfinals at 285.

At 102 Joel Scibek opened with a win by pin in 5:07, before dropping an 8-6 match to go to the wrestle-backs.

Brian Park opened with a bye at 110, before dropping his next match to fall into the wrestle-backs.

William Lotocky opened with a win by fall in 26 seconds at 145, before dropping a tough-fought 15-11 match at 145 to head to the wrestle backs.

Liam Levantovich (152), Luis Bohan (160) and Vicenzo Menard (172) all dropped their first matches and are alive in the wrestle backs.
