HIGH SCHOOL GYMNASTICS: CORNING TAKES SECOND (October 26, 2026)

BYRON — The Corning Hawks gymnastics team finished second place at MCA Gymnastics with a score of 126.475.

Corning finished ahead of Genesee (124.825) and behind Gates-Brighton (129.125).

The Hawks earned individual events victories and several top-six finishes on the day. 

Bryn Kempton led the way for the Hawks with a first-place finish on the bars. Kempton also tied for second in the all-around competition. 

In the vault Samantha Place was seventh with an 8.025.

Kempton won the uneven bars at 8.650 and teammate Ella Lamberson was third in 8.050. 

Kempton was third in the balance beam with an 8.725 and Winifred McConnell had a strong showing with an 8.250.

McConnell tied for third on the floor with a 9.025 and in the all-around Kempton had a 33.525 to tie for second and McConnell was sixth at 31.175.
