Southern Tier Sports ReportELMIRA — A flurry of goals by Ithaca late was the difference as the Elmira boys fell to Ithaca 3-1 on Wednesday night.
Dom Romeo had the Elmira goal off a Parker Coleman assist.
Fleix Teschl had two goals for Ithaca and Bennett Rickard had a goal. Ben Susskind, Sam Lima and Jasper Hall had assists.
“I thought we played pretty well defensively for most of the game,” Elmira coach Derek Hamilton said. “We saw a 0-0 scoreline for most of the match before Ithaca scored three goals in five minutes after a few lapses in play.
“We refocused and grabbed a goal, but need to play a complete 80 minutes knock off a quality opponent like Ithaca.”
Elmira is 9-4-1 on the year.
