IAC GIRLS' SOCCER: ANOTHER HUGE MOMENT FOR EDISON AS THEY TOP WG (2026-10-06)

Southern Tier Sports Report
WATKINS GLEN — The Edison girls’ soccer team won their second straight game, beating Watkins Glen 1-0 on Tuesday night.

Eliza Crandall scored the Edison goal off an assist from Paige Vaughan.

Edison had seven shots and three corners and Watkins Glen had five shots and five corner kicks.

Kaylynn Tarby had five saves for Edison and Watkins Glen had six saves in goal.

“Another milestone win for our program, defeating an experienced Watkins Glen team,” Edison coach Kevin Weber said. “In a game that was disjoined and I would say turned frustrating for both sides, our girls did a great job of keeping their focus and finding a way to get the result.

“I thought we came out on the front foot and had the better of play to start, getting behind their defense for the early goal. But, credit to Watkins, they are very good at attacking with numbers and kept us pinned in our defensive end for much of the second half. That said, our defense remained organized and the whole team really worked together to limit them to very few quality looks at our goal, while still creating a few good chances of our own that could have put the game away.”
