Southern Tier Sports ReportATHENS, PA. — The Elmira boys’ soccer team recorded their eighth shutout of the season as they beat Athens 1-0 on the road Monday night.
Nolan Kennedy had the Elmira goal off a Dom Capilli assist.
“I thought Athens did a nice job of sitting in and limiting opportunities for us,” Elmira coach Derek Hamilton said. “Coach Reynard has his boys organized and that’s always tough to break down. Nolan Kennedy found a goal sitting off the far post.
“Again, our defensive unit was up to the task recording their eighth clean sheet of the season. They have been fantastic all season.”
Elmira is 9-3-1 on the year.
