HORSEHEADS — The Horseheads boys’ soccer team fell to Ithaca 6-2 on senior night on Friday.

Felix Teschl opened the scoring for Ithaca just five minutes into the goal followed by a goal from Ben Susskind five minutes later.

Eli Ash scored midway through the first half to put Ithaca up 3-0.

Mason Earl got Horseheads on the board with 17 minutes left in the half off a Jason Lucht assist.

Owen Bachert scored with 2:30 left in the first half to make the score 3-2, but Ithaca’s Thomas Butcher scored on a quick restart to put Ithaca up 4-2 at the half. Ithaca scored two more in the last 10 minutes of the match for the final score.

“It was our third touch match in five days,” Horseheads coach Mark Mucci said. “The boys battled hard and gave us everything they had, but Ithaca was the better team on this night. Proud of the effort and fight we put forth on senior night.

“We will rest up over the weekend and get back at it Monday so that we can finish the regular season strong and get ready for sectionals.”
