STAC BOYS' SOCCER: CORNING EDGED ON THE ROAD AT MAINE-ENDWELL, 2-1 (2026-09-30)

Southern Tier Sports Report
ENDWELL — The Corning boys’ soccer team fell 2-1 at Maine-Endwell on Wednesday night.

Miguel Mendoza had the Corning goal off a Cooper Sargent assist.

Landon Stenta had both Maine-Endwell goals, both off assists by Evan Stull.

Corning had 12 shots and six corners and the Spartans had six shots and three corner kicks.

Wesley Dunn had 10 saves for the Spartans and the Hawks got four saves from Owen Donlon.

“Tough match on the road against an opponent that is always tough at home,” Corning coach Chad Freelove said. “Stents is a great player that must be sorted out in a match that saw only 3-4 let downs. He is just able to capitalize on mistakes.

“They made one more big plan than we were able to make in this match. We get back to work tomorrow to prepare for another strong opponent in Elmira on Friday.”
