Southern Tier Sports ReportODESSA — The Edison girls’ soccer team picked up their first win of the year, topping South Seneca 4-0 in the Odessa-Montour Tournament consolation game.
Paige Weber scored just 12 seconds into the game and Eliza Crandall scored at 36:04 and 62:07, the second off an Aurora Parlo assist.
Paige Vaughn scored at 71:50 off a Weber assist.
Edison had 20 shots and a corner and South Seneca had two shots and a corner.
Kaylynn Tarby had two saves for Edison and was selected to the all-tournament team. Kenney Basher had nine saves for South Seneca.
Campbell-Savona-Bradford were the tournament champions.
“Very happy with how our group rebounded from Thursday’s game, playing extremely well today,” Edison coach Kevin Weber said. “After the early goal, we were able to control the pace of play, and our defense did a tremendous job of limiting and ending their attacks early.
“This allowed us to find some of the offensive connections we’ve been working toward, attacking open areas with quick combinations. Our focus moving forward is to continue building confidence in those connections, allowing us to make quicker and more precise decisions.”
