CORNING 5TH/6TH GRADE FOOTBALL OPEN SEASON WITH WIN (2026-09-02)

The Corning Hawks fifth and sixth grade team kicked off their league season in dominant fashion, beating Johnson City 40-14.

Corning controlled the opening two quarters, jumping out to a commanding 40-6 lead at the half.

The first-half surge was capped when Ricky Graham intercepted a pass and returned it for a pick-six just before the half. 

Graham had a dazzling offensive display, racking up 195 yards and three rushing touchdowns on just six carries, to go along with his defensive score. 

Brody Evans anchored the Hawks on both sides of the ball, punching in a touchdown on offense, while recording 14 tackles on defense. 

With the win the Hawks start league play at 1-0.
