Southern Tier Sports Report
ELMIRA HEIGHTS — In a game that had a pair of weather delays, the Edison girls’ soccer team opened the season with a 3-0 loss to Trumansburg.

It was 2-0 at the half as Eleanor Ouckama had both first half goals in the 21st and 30th minutes, the second on a direct kick.

Trumansburg added a penalty kick in the 78th minute.

Trumansburg had 18 shots and five corner kicks and Edison had five shots and three corner kicks.

Kaylynn Tarby had five saves in goal for Edison and Trumansburg had two saves in goal in the game.

“In a game that was delayed twice for 30+ minutes each due to thunder/lighthing, I was very proud of our group’s effort tonight against a talented and well coached Trumansburg team,” Edison coach Kevin Weber said.

“Having only had a week of practice prior, we’ll continue working to improve our fitness levels and correcting a few of the mental errors that led to their goal scoring opportunities today.”
