WAVERLY — A record 219 kids took part in the annual Waverly boys’ basketball camp this past week.

There were kids from a number of different schools in four different age groups.

For Division III Grayson Smith of Horseheads was the foul shooting champion and the three-on-three champs were Winston Aiello of Owego, Smith, Jacob Darling of Owego and Owen Setzer of Athens.

Kai Keeney of Wyalusing was the hot shot champion and Marcus Henry Jr. of Horseheads was the one-on-one champion.

Smith was the knockout champion and the hustler award winner was Jaxon Hyde of Addison. Keeney was most improved and Brennan Hogan of Waverly was the 1/2 camp scholarship winner.

Caleb Evans of Wyalusing, Henry Jr., Smith, Lucas Mallette of Edison and Aiello were the all-stars and Adrian Cole of Wyalusing was the MVp. 

The camp defensive team winners were Henry Perkins of Horseheads and Jeremy Friedlander of Troy. Chase Donovan of Wavelry was the Al Geppert Award winner for grades 4-8 and the best camper was Rocco Powers of Athens. 

The team champions were the Ithaca Bombers with Christian Brown of Grace Academy, Jackson Rhodes of Athens, Aiello, Cooper Leavenworth of Athens, Trevor Foster of Waverly, Brighton Janie of Odessa-Montour and Ashton and Adrian Cole of Wyalusing. 

In Division II the foul shooting champion was Wesley Burger of NEB and Sawyer Tremaine of Horseheads, Clayton Auerbach of Horseheads and Paxton Campbell of Athens were the three-on-three champions. 

The three-point champs were Silas Martin of Troy and Tommy Thompson of Canton.

Auerbach was the hot-shot champion and Tremaine was the one-on-one champion and the knockout champion. 

Khalil Dorsey of Waverly was the hustler award winner and Bransyn Jessup of Wellsboro was the most improved. Wyatt Raupers of Athens was the 1/2 camp scholarship winner.

Burgers, Tremaine, Thompson, Austin Briggs of Athens and Chase Seager of Waverly were the all-stars and Jimmy Renzi of Troy was the MVP. 

Aidan Thompson of Troy and Giovanni Sharpe of Athens were the camp defensive team members. 

The team champions were the Timberwolves with a team of Joshua Laudermilch of NEB, Ethan Neuber of of Waverly, Jace Mader of Waverly, Thompson, Ethan Fowler of Waverly, Thompson, Nolan Putnam of Waverly and Renzi.

In Division I the foul shooting champion was Gavin Harmer of Horseheads and the three-on-three champs were Drew Croft, Ace Johnston, Holden Hunt and Ryder Chamberlain, all of Waverly.

Johnston and Chamberlain were the three-point champions and Carson Pentzien of Singapore was the hot shot and knockout champion.

Oliver Sechrist of Canton was the hustler award winner and Johnston was most improved, while Elijah Harper of Elmira was the 1/2 camp scholarship winner.

Dempsey Stevens of Towanda, Alex Wilson of Corning, Ian Johnston of Waverly, Croft, Jackson Largey of Wellsboro and Leavenworth were the all-stars and Pentzien was the MVP. Bri Kramer of Odessa-Montour and Jarrett Root of Troy were on the camp defensive team. Ian Johnston was the Al Geppert award winner for grades 9-11. 

Penn State was the team champs with a team of Jerrett Root of Troy, Ian Johnston of Waverly, Chamberlain, Vincent Biddle of Horseheads, Olin Kramer and Owen DuPoy of Odessa, Olivier Hyde of Addison, Kabe Renzo of Troy and Brady Shores of Grace Christian. 

In the NBA Division Mike Sutryk of Notre Dame was the foul shooting champion and there three-on-three champs were Pryor Teribury of Troy, Jaden Bailor of O-M, Daryl Finan of Troy and Markell Garner of Towanda.

Pryor and Trey Teribury of Troy were the three-on-three champions and Sutryk was the hot shot champ. Garner was the one-on-one champion.

Cam Cole of Waylusing was the hustler award winner and six Carr of Canton was the most improved, while Tyrese Gamby of Sayre was the 1/2 camp scholarship winner.

Boom Thompson of Towanda, Trey Teribury, Lucas Vincent of Towanda, Gibbon Lawton of Wellsboro, Sutryk and Preston Harmer of Horseheads were the all-stars and Garner was the MVP. Joey Lackey of Troy and Brock Carr of Elmira were the camp defensive team winners.

The Spurs were the team champs with a team of Landon Cole of Troy, Brody Lambert of Waverly, Vincent, Cam White of Elmira, Carr, Garner, Christian Main of Wellsboro, Braylen Jessup of Wellsboro, Xavier Demco of Sayre and Moe Zinger of O-M.
