PAINTED POST — The Horseheads 10u Little League team used a seven-run third inning to top Corning-Painted Post (American), 10-7 in the semifinals.
Horseheads went up 7-0 in the third, before both teams bot runs in the fourth to make it 9-2.
Horseheads added a run in the fourth to go up 10-2, before CPPLL battled back with five in the sixth to make the final score.
Leo Vasicek had a home run, with two hits, two runs scored and an RBI. Lucas Blauvelt had two hits and Griff Malnoske and Jaxton Bates each had doubles. Malnoske had an RBI and a run scored and Bates scored a run.
Jaden Jansen, Jordan Kramer, Camdyn Vowell and Derek Yan all had hits, with a run scored, and Noah Jackson had a hit and scored two runs.
Blauvelt struck out five in five innings, allowing a hit and two unearned runs. Vowell got one out and Vasicek got two outs, allowing an unearned run on a hit.
Ethan Vancuren and Layne Agnello each had hits for Corning. Agnello had an RBI, Eddie Sun had two RBI and Michael Spaulding had an RBI.
Harless King and Alex Duke each scored two runs and Sun, Kyen Kotwitz and Liam Horvat scored runs in the game.
Spaulding struck out three in three innings and Ian got one out, by strikeout, while Sun worked 1 2/3 innings, with two strikeouts.
Horseheads hosts Corning-Painted Post (National) at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the final.
