CORNING ATHLETES CAP THEIR CAREERS AT GRADUATION (24 PHOTOS) (2026-06-27)

CORNING — For Corning senior athletes Saturday marked the end of their journey as they walked across the stage at graduation.

Overall 357 Hawks graduated, including a number of athletes.

Among those graduating were Cella McLaughlin, who won three state titles in track and field this year, and has won five in her career. 

Matti Johnston graduated on Friday, the same week she was named the NYSPHSAA Class AAA softball Player of the Year. 

A pair of starters on the Hawks boys’ basketball team that made the state final four graduated, with Kyler Stevenson and Teigen Gill graduating. Gill was the salutatorian. 

The valedictorian was Charlie Warner, a multi-sport standout. 

There were athletes across the sports spectrum that capped their careers as Corning-Painted Post High School graduates on Friday.
