Southern Tier Sports ReportELMIRA HEIGHTS — Thomas Edison held their annual sports awards on Wednesday, with Jameson Duggan and Hannah Lasko earning athlete of the year honors.
For the girls the finalists were Lasko, Madison Hubschmitt and Mali Huffner, with Lasko winning. On the boys side the finalists were Duggan, Greg Golden, Augustus Ector and Zachary Sternfels, with Duggan winning.
For boys’ cross country Ector and Carson Balash were MVP, while Duggan was the Brad Sanford winner.
Hubschmitt was the girls’ cross country MVP and Riley Shilling and Madison Palmieri won the Brad Sanford award.
Aurora Parlo was girls’ soccer MVP and Lasko and Eliza Crandall were the Brad Sanford winners.
Golden and Jace Schiller were the football MVP’s and Mark Cornacchio was the Brad Sanford winner.
Arabella Mirando was the fall cheerleading MVP and Katrina Cook was the Brad Sanford winner.
For volleyball Charlotte ‘Rose’ Wheeler and Isabelle Guarnieri were the MVP’s and Camdyn Hoffmann was the Brad Sanford winner.
Marcquis Bradley Jr. was the boys’ basketball MVP and Connor Lasko was the Brad Sanford winner.
Huffner was the girls’ basketball MVP and Hailey Clark was the Brad Sanford winner.
Abby Shilling was the winter cheer MVP and KaaCee Grover-Smith was the Brad Sanford winner.
Duggan was the boys’ indoor track and field MVP and Landon Baumgardner was the Brad Sanford winner and Lasko was the girls’ indoor track and field MVP and Riley Shilling was the Brad Sanford winner.
For girls’ bowling Cassandra Osgood was the MVP and for the boys Tyler Clark was the Brad Sanford award winner.
Golden was the wrestle MVP and Schiller and Mason VAnderhoff were the Brad Sanford winners. Ector was the boys’ track and field outdoor MVP and Grayson Margeson was the Brad Sanford winner.
Wheeler was the softball Brad Sanford winner and Lasko was the girls’ outdoor track and field MVP, while Eden Bethel was the Brad Sanford winner.
Tyler Clark was the Brad Sanford winner for tennis and for baseball Tanner Buchanan was MVP and Schiller and Braedyn Gulich were the Brad Sanford winners.
The Michael Wiita Cheerleading Award for the fall went to Kennedy Parker and for the winter it was Gibbs.
The football outstanding lineman award went to Michael Grow. The senior tennis awards went to Mackenzie King, Lillian Cowulich, Kaitlyn King, Joe Paul Jr., Blake Bohart, Ivy Sager and Isabella McCarty.
The senior softball awards went to Cowan, Cierra Davis and Gibbs.
