LANEY, LESE NAMED TOP SENIOR ATHLETES AS HORSEHEADS HOSTS SPORTS AWARDS (24 PHOTOS) (2026-06-10)

HORSEHEADS — The Horseheads Blue Raiders held their All Sports Tribute on Wednesday night with Patrick Laney and Lexi Lese earning the boys and girls outstanding senior athlete honors.

The Ernie Davis ‘Marty Hartigan’ Award winners were Olivia Schwab and Gabe Rodriguez. 

Zach Schrage won the Dan Manganaro Memorial Scholarship and Wyatt MacNeal won the Robert Kirkendall Award. 

Caitlin Yearick won the Robert Wayne Coburn Award and Schrage won the Jeff Reese Memorial Scholarship. 

Jackie Mayotte won the William O. Bauman Memorial Award and Mackenzie Baker won the Billy Lowe Memorial Scholarship.

Kole Zufall won the Dr. William Davis Memorial Award and Lese won the Miranda Novitsky Memorial Scholarship. 

Murphy Johns won the Matt Holleran Scholarship and Mya Piecuch and Wyatt Campbell won the Section IV Character Recognition Award.

The award ceremony also recognized individual state champion Cayden Bowman (bowling) and individual sectional champs and team champions from the season. 

All-State athletes recognized were Bonnell (fifth team, girls’ basketball), Ribble (12th team, girls’ basketball), Giana Hughey (HM, girls’ basketball), Kaelyn McCarthy (fourth team all-state setter in volleyball) and McCormick (fifth team outside hitter in volleyball) and Laney (third team football), Bryce Thomas (fifth team football), Elijah Miller, Wyatt MacNeal and Liam Morrissey (honorable mention football). 

Three all-American athletes were recognized (Kozemko and Briggs as scholastic lacrosse All-Americans and Zack Bennett as an academic All-American for boys’ lacrosse.
