Southern Tier Sports ReportITHACA — The Elmira boys’ lacrosse team fell to Ithaca 13-7 in the Section IV, Class A semifinals on Tuesday night.
Ithaca led the entire game on Tuesday and will play Corning on Saturday in Horseheads for the title.
Ithaca got on the board early as Quentin Getzin won the opening face-off and scored immediately and then scored again minutes later. Ithaca jumped out to a 3-0 lead, before Elmira got back within one with under three minutes to play in the half.
Ithaca got a goal by Isaac Lee-Byrnes to go up 5-3 at the break.
The Little Red had seven goals in the third, as Ithaca outscored Elmira 7-1 in the period to lead 12-4 entering the fourth. Lee-Byrnes had a hat trick.
