SECTION 4 FLAG FOOTBALL: ELMIRA FALLS IN SECTIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP (2026-05-23)

Southern Tier Sports Report
SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY — The season came to an end for the Elmira flag football team in the Section IV, Class A final with a 59-0 loss to Union-Endicott.

Freshman quarterback Marley Devlin threw for 97 yards, finishing her freshman season with 1,374 passing yards — just 35 yards shy of the school single-season record.

Gracelyn Wheeler caught four passes for 80 yards and Ella Devlin ran for 30 yards.

“Obviously, this is not the way we wanted to end the year, we didn’t play very well today and Union-Endicott deserves credit,” Elmira coach A’Don Allen said. “But, to finish the season in the sectional championship game after the start we had, and in what we knew would be a rebuilding year, says a lot about the growth of this team.

“We say goodbye to some great kids, including Jayelle Tomisman, Mady Wasicki and Laci Pronti, who have been part of this program since the beginning. They were part of last year’s sectional championship team and were paramount in helping guide us through this rebuilding year. They will be tremendously missed. But, we also have a solid core returning, a strong JV group coming up, and I truly believe we are trending in the right direction.”
