Southern Tier Sports ReportWATKINS GLEN — Landon English scored his 200th career pint as the Notre Dame/Watkins Glen boys’ lacrosse team topped Seton Catholic in the Section IV, Class C playoffs.
English hit his 200th point to start the second quarter and he ended the game with three goals and six assists.
“A great team win tonight in Watkins Glen in sectional playoffs,” ND/WG coach Geoff Crossley said. “We executed well in everything we did tonight from ground balls to face offs. Defense and offense match energy on both sides of the field. We prepared all week and everything came together.
“Mathis Dehecq was phenomenal on face-offs, going 18-of-25 at the X. Dominic Capriccio was a ground ball vacuum with 12 ground balls on the night. Offense shared the ball well with 15 assists on 16 points. Everything was clicking and it was a great game to watch. We are so proud of the guys tonight, the way we came out and worked the game plan and put a nearly perfect game together. Now we have to prepare for a Wednesday game against a good Whitney Point team.”
Finn Schweizer had five goals and two assists in the game and Sam Hohle had two goals and five assists.
Garret Kone had three goals and Matt Keough had two goals and an assist.
