SECTION 4 GIRLS' GOLF: ABEL SHOOTS 34 TO LEAD CORNING TO WIN IN QUAD MEET (2026-05-18)

HORSEHEADS — Delaney Abel shot one-under 34 to help lead Corning to a narrow win over Waverly in a quad meet at Soaring Eagles on Monday. 

Corning shot 196 and Waverly was at 200. Horseheads shot 230 and Elmira finished at 265. 

Along with the 34 from Abel, which was 12 shots better than anyone in the field, the Hawks got a 52 from Tess Barber and a 54 from Kamryn Fuscare. Zoe Martin shot a 56 for Corning and Adri Alonso shot a 65 and Caroline Welch had a 69. 

Sophia Sileo shot a 46 for Wavelry and Addison Hunt shot a 50, while Emelia Mitchell had a round of 51. Olivia Cheresnowski shot a 53 and Alaina Nicholas had a round of 65. 

Horseheads got rounds of 56 from Jemma Randall and Ellie Padgett and Livi Sumner shot a round of 58.

Lacey Titsworth had a round of 60 and Lydia Rockwell shot a 61, while Abby Sumner shot a 66.

Elmira got a 62 from Hannah Reynolds and Kiersten Oakley and Layla Campanelli shot a 69, while Alyssa Murphy shot a 72.
